The Aquarium

April and Patrick Blois came to visit for the long weekend, and today we went to the aquarium together. The kids enjoyed it a lot, and so did the rest of us! Boston has a decently sized aquarium, with a huge cylinder tank in the center and ascending ramps wrapping around it. There was a HUGE turtle, a huge eel, large sharks and other fish as well, and we ended up being lucky enough to be there at feeding time.

California!

I guess you could call our 6 month stay in Cali an "outing"... We lived in Santa Rosa CA in our first together apartment- a town house on "Santa Ana drive" We were just learning how to be a family, and our most exciting times while there that I can remember were grocery shopping together, and when Logan arrived we had to take two carts a few times we lost each other in the store...
This picture is of the Golden Gate Bridge, of course in San Francisco, which was about an hour away. We had some visitors from NS while we were there- Harvey and Cathy Blois and Doe Singer came, and we had some great times together- those guys def know how to vacation! My sister also came to visit, and we ended up hiking the redwoods with her, (yes only four days after Logan was born! it was fine, I was on pain meds.) drove around San Francisco, went to a beach, saw the Napa Valley, and drove to Monterey down the coast.
My mom was a lifesaver when she arrived, she knows just what to do with newborns! I was so stressed out when she was leaving... I'd never had two kids before, and had barely moved out of my parents house with my first!! but everything worked out fine, I was so thankful to have had the time with mom there. There really is nothing like spending a few days with my mom- she is the most generous and thoughtful person ever, and always takes great care of the kids- makes sure I am rested and well fed with the cooking that I still miss... nothing like spending time with mom.

Herring Run

I posted a blog about this already under Carson and Logan's page, but I wanted to keep it recorded here too. the kids had a blast here watching the millions of herring swim upstream. they are so thick that you can reach one hand in and pick them straight out of the water.
of course, posing for a family picture is harder than it should be with our two guys... Logan trying to take off, Carson trying to make sure he doesn't... good times though!

Cape Cod

I finally planned an event on my own- I found a babysitter, found a resort to stay at, called Nathan and asked him on a date. We ended up staying in Dennisport, and this picture is of a beach up route 6a, which was a gorgeous drive... all of the houses are sort of matching with wood siding, all pastel colors... there were some huge mansions and some art galleries, gift shops like crazy... it will be fun to visit in the summer when there are more people around. We even saw a fox while at this beach! what a great area, I had no idea that cape cod was so gorgeous!
